Traditionally the rehearsal dinner is hosted by
either the groom or the groom's family. It can be held at any time from one
night before the wedding to three or four days before. However, it is best to
keep the events within a few days from each other as many guests will travel
from out of town.
If the wedding is to be held in a location
unfamiliar to the groom, it may be helpful to scout around for possible
sites. Often it is less of a hassle to hold the rehearsal near the site where
the wedding will take place.
When planning the reception, keep in mind that the
food to be served at the rehearsal should differ as much as possible from the
reception menu. In order to avoid any conflicts or entree repeats, have
caterers for each event discuss their respective menus beforehand. To
simplify the problem have the same caterer handle both events. |
